BOARD MEETING

The meeting was called to order at 12:45 pm by League Coordinator Jim Goodman.


ROLL CALL

Board Members: Jim Goodman, Deb Warnke, Chuck Brand, Mike Ewen, Ernie Hain, Melissa Doe, Randy Stocker, Dave Zemke, Kent Bruinsma, Gary Thomas, Casey Doe, Bill Gosse, Joe Koerner and Bobette Pronk. 


GUEST: Joe Kluck


SECRETARY’S REPORT: The Secretary's report for the December 18, 2024 meeting was emailed in pdf format prior to the Board meeting for members to review. Two items will be added to the December 18, 2024 minutes. Motion made by Deb Warnke, seconded by Kent Bruinsma and approved to accept the Secretary's Report.


TREASURER’S REPORT: The Treasurer's report for the month ending December 31, 2024 was emailed in pdf format prior to the Board meeting for members to review. Ernie Hain reported the following amounts: checking account $7,005.02 and designated funds $1,655.11.

Motion made by Randy Stocker, seconded by Kent Bruinsma and approved to accept the Treasurer's Report.


SAFETY & RULES REPORT:

No report.


PUBLIC RELATIONS REPORT:

Melissa Doe had nothing to report. Ernie Hain reported that he got the banner back from the Rec Center. Randy Stocker talked about the Rochesterfest and several things we could do to promote

RMSS. Further discussion will take place at future meetings.


WEBSITE/TECHNOLOGY REPORT:

Joe Koerner reported he will be sending out the Session 2 Dome ball player form early.


ACTION ITEMS:

1.Jim welcomed the new RMSS board members. Dave Zemke will be taking over Gary Oldenburg's position, Randy Stocker replaces Gary Thomas and Gary Thomas takes over for Chuck Brand.

2. Jim reported he will be sending out an email soon looking for people to serve on the following committees: Equipment, Picnic, Audit and Election.


UNFINISHED BUSINESS:


1. Rules and Procedures Conduct Policy – Jim read the Players Conduct rule to the Board. The word permanent dismissal needs to be added. Jim will update and send out the updated wording

for the Board to review.

2. League/Team Sponsors – It was decided to go with just ordering hats from C&M. Deb will talk to C&M. Each person responsible for contacting their respective sponsors should do so and

be prepared to let the Board know at the February meeting.

3. Ernie Hain hasn't heard anything back concerning liability insurance for board members. It was tabled until next month.

4. Special Assistant duties – Bill Gosse, Joe Kluck and Randy Stocker helped make the Dome tournament successful by coordinating all phases of it. Melissa Doe will handle the Twin tickets.

Joe Kluck will contact Mike Brady about coordinating RMSS helping with the D&R Pool Tournament.

5. Joe Kluck reported that Dome ball is going very well. Tournament was very successful and the next one is March 6-7.


NEW BUSINESS:


1. Ernie Hain presented the budget for 2025. Deb Warnke made a motion, Bill Gosse seconded the motion to accept the 2025 budget. After some discussion, it was decided to make it $600 for shirts and to add in $500 for liability insurance. The motion was amended by Deb Warnke and seconded by Ernie Hain. Motion approved.

2. 2025 RMSS merchandise – Deb Warnke talked about the two teams who will get new jerseys this year. They are Prime Time and Charlie's. Charlie's will get light blue and Prime Time will get orange. She also talked about putting two logos on the jerseys and will check into that

further. The logos would be All Pro Pavers and American Legion.

3. Jim will send out the Summer Schedule and the Activity Calendar for review.

4. Eagles Cancer Telethon – Jim will present a check for $3800 from RMSS January 18.

5. It was decided to not have a Casual Division this summer but there was discussion on possibly a different format that will be discussed at our February meeting.  


Next board meeting is February 19.


Motion made by Chuck Brand and seconded by Deb Warnke to adjourn at 2:50 pm. Motion approved.
